NEW ORLEANS
JUNE 2023
The ladies of the family spent three unforgettable days enjoying Louisiana and its hospitality.
The first day included: discovering the French quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, a lovely dinner at Cochon and a visit to Preservation Hall
The second day was a drive and visiting plantations: Oak Alley and Destrehan; and dinner at Antoine's - the oldest restaurant in new Orleans
The third day started with a Swamp Tour. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to Honey Island Swamp. We followed that with a lunch in the Garden District and a tour of the mansions. The day ended with a sumptuous dinner at Arnaud's.
The French Quarter
The mighty Mississippi
St Louis Cathedral & Jackson Square
Café du Monde
... and the world famous 'Beignet's that kept us full all day...

Preservation Hall
We patiently waited in line and got an hour of wonderful jazz - the good old days when you could just wander in and listen, sitting on crates...
The oldest restaurant in NOLA proved to be one of the best. We had drinks at the bar and then finished off our wonderful dinner with the pièce de résistance: baked Alaska!
At lunch while we had cocktails, good girl AM stayed with water
Lafayette Cemetery No.1
We must have thought the entrance to a cemetery is the most appropriate place to take pictures.

Thank you NOLA for a fun long weekend
