Geisterspitze, 07/1999
High up on the North Ridge of Geisterspitze. The ridge is about 45 degree steep, but the conditions were perfect, hence we didn't need to belay. |

Waterfall, 07/1999
This waterfall is located on the southern ramp of the Stilfser Joch, which leads to Bormio. It is actually an outlet of a small power plant. |

The trail to the waterfall is easy in this part, but gets steep and narrow the closer you get to it. |

August 2009
Once again we are in Stilfserjoch [Passo Stelvio]. A place we have
loved all these years... and once again it is a perfect outing.
We had our favorite and only street food - Würstl
mit Kraut im Vinschgerl - sausage with sauerkraut in local bread.
Delicious!! We watched the bikers enjoy the curves, made a quick
visit to the little chapel near the cable car station and drove down
Southeastern ramp to Bormio.
On the way down we passed portions of the old road and Casa Cantonieras.
Stations where they changed horses during the pre-auto eras. They were also
used as a resting spots.
And the waterfall where we had pictures taken in 1999.
On another rainy day we left our HQ at Verdins and
drove to Stilfserjoch for another visit and a delicious street lunch.
The 48 "Kehre/Tornante"s ["S" curves] are always fun to drive.
We passed Trafoi on our way up, and even in a small town, on a passroad, it
is clear you are in a Catholic country
We reached the peak, had our street lunch, enjoyed the surroundings, read the
instructions on how to behave (!), paid our respects to the WW1 soldiers and
drove down to Switzerland for a loop before returning to Verdins.
