Porvoo is a town approximately 50 kms east of Helsinki. It is well known for its wooden buildings on the riverside and a charming cathedral.

From Porvoo on our way back to Tampere we visited the Hollolan Church on the shore of Lake Vesijarvi.  It was completed in 1481 and dedicated to the Virgin Mary.  The Empire Bell Tower at the entrance of the Church was built during 1821-1831.
