MÜNSTER

February 2009

From Dortmund, we drove to Münster for a day trip.  About 50 kms north of Dortmund it is considered to be the cultural center of Westphalia. The old city dates back to the 14th century. With its Town Hall and nearby St. Lambert's Church, the Prinzipalmarkt is where one starts a visit.

A very well known site of town that has been photographed zillions of times did not deter us from one more: St Lambert's Catholic Church

St. Lambert's - where the cages of three Anabaptist leaders hang from the clock tower [not my picture].  They were tortured and killed.  It is a reminder of the Anabaptist Rebellion
