Our first tour in Australia was the one we took with our great guide Tanya.  She drove us South to Springbrook National Park and various other attractions and warnings...

Stradbroke Island 

My niece Deniz and I we took a ferry to Stradbroke Island, and then a bus to the ocean side and the beautiful beaches.

 

Respect for ancestral lands and an effort to minimize tourism. To stop a whale centre development on the island.  A valiant effort but... [below- center]

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Another day we took a ferry trip up the Brisbane River to the Koala Sanctuary.

The limit of Asli's 'close encounter' with animals!

In addition to Koalas... 

...we visited a variety of reptiles,  including an estuarine crocodile basking in the sun.

An emu that liked Stephan's company and a couple of kangaroos that did not want to have anything to do with visitors. 

A lazy hog and a lazy dingo, and another dingo that didn't look friendly at all!
