Blue Mountains
A day-tour took us to the Blue Mountains, Scenic Railway, Walkway, Skyway and Cableway. It also was supposed to include Featherdale Wildlife Park but did not! Instead they took us to the Zoo...
Echo Point & Three Sisters
Scenic Railway - with its sheer drop it would make many rollercosters red with envy!
According to the Guinness Book of Records, it is the steepest railway in the world. It was originally built to be part of the Katoomba mining tramways built in the late 1800's. It has a 52 degree incline.
We rode the modern version and admired the simplicity of the older one [below-right].
Mines that are now deemed to be too dangerous to even go in. Oil lamps that were mounted on the hats of miners [below-center]
We had two more rides: Scenic Skyway & Scenic Cableway
Lincoln's Rock
Sydney ZOO
Dingos, Koalas, crocodiles, Tasmanian Devils, kangaroos, and a very interesting lecture about native aborigines and didgeridoos.
