On a turnout high up on the Timmelsjoch road, very close to the border crossing, on the Austrian side. The mountains in the background are part of the skiing area of Sölden.

From the Timmelsjoch, the road to Vent is only a few kilometers. It was the right time of year (hot, and still enough snow in the alpine) that the waterfalls were impressive.

We passed through Timmelsjoch on our way to Hochötz. It is as beautiful as it was 25 years ago.

We started in Lago di Garda and drove north via Dorf Tirol.  Part of Timmelsjoch is in Italy and part in Austria. We passed a series of tunnels on the Italian side and reached the summit.

 And finally we reached Hochötz.
